The Other Self Portrait

There is a very good reason that this wasn't published....
But here it is..Now can any one figure out why this is not my "Greatest Work?"

The reason is that this was created with help of a computer program, I cannot remember what it was called. But anyhow I like it as a thumbnail or icon but I did not do it. If I remember correctly the style is 'Rembrant' and it uses a scanned image and transform's it into various styles and empressions of real life works. I have actully hated this image as it what I have tried so hard in the past to capture and failed. You see an artist's greatest challenge is the self portrait because your own personnal bias tricks you into doing the wrong things. so enjoy but not to much he he

Two beautiful rose bulbs
So much alike yet so different
Watching you everyday grow larger and stronger
Awaiting the day you blossom into beautiful flowers
Trying to provide you with the essentials to grow and bloom
Knowing mistakes will be made but loving you unconditionally
Hoping you will rise to the occasion and be the leaders you are
Each day know you are loved and cared for by many
Life will have many ups and downs, but know it is all worth it
Spring into everything your heart desires
Know that you can reach as far as the sky for the things you want
This is your life…..so blossom my beautiful flowers
You are my life…..and I will give you the sun, moon, and stars

Justice?

Justice?

This is an oldie - from February 2001. Almost four whole years old. I haven't had time to write much poetry recently. This was written as a song; it sounds much better with the music, but alas . . .

There's a prisoner who sits in a faraway cell
Ignored by the warden and inmates, as well.
He knows he's not guilty of the alleged crime;
He sits there, just biding his time, biding his time.

The judge and the jury stand out in the hall,
Calmly ignoring the prisoner's sad call.
His plaintive cry echoes, but they just don't hear.
Can it be justice they fear? Justice they fear.

The prisoner, he sighs, for he knows how they work.
They all hate their task, and their duty they shirk.
They must soon determine the poor prisoner's fate.
They quibble; the hour grows late, the hour grows late.

The prisoner despairs of returning to home.
His mind is with people; his body's alone.
He waits to hear just what the verdict will be
Knowing he's already free, already free.

The jurors hate justice; the judge is corrupt.
The prisoner's not guilty, but that's not enough.
The verdict's for prison, though based just on lies.
He smiles and closes his eyes, not really surprised.
